The Jets two-game winning streak was snapped last week and they could have pulled level with New England if they managed to beat them. Chris Ivory struggled by carrying the ball just 17 times for 41 yards due to a hamstring problem while quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick had a good passing game. Ivory managed to score a touchdown after catching one of Fitzpatrick’s passes though. The quarterback tossed another touchdown pass and gained 295 yards in the contest.

Eric Decker was the top receiver with 94 yards on half a dozen catches. He was followed by Brandon Marshall who had four receptions and 67 yards. New York is aiming to rebound against an Oakland side which gives up a league-worst 303.8 passing yards per game this season. In addition, the Jets’ secondary has been playing well and will try to contain Oakland’s first-year wideout Amari Cooper. This job could fall to cornerback Darrelle Revis, who has three pick offs so far this campaign. He also does a good job of retrieving loose balls and has a league-best three recovered fumbles. The Jets have been hot on the road lately by going 4-01 against the spread in their past five outings away from home.

The Raiders got off to a quick start last week and took an early 30-6 lead by halftime against their division rivals in San Diego. They then went ahead 37-6 during the third quarter, but then made the mistake of taking their foot off the gas pedal. This allowed the Chargers to rack up 23 straight points as they attempted a comeback. Luckily for the Raiders though, it was a case of too little too late. Quarterback Derek Carr had a fine performance as he gained 289 yards by completing 24 of his 31 passes along with three touchdowns.

Clive Walford, Amari Cooper and Michael Crabtree were the recipients of Carr’s touchdown passes. The Raiders will be up against a Jets squad which allows opposition quarterbacks to pass for just 5.6 yards each completion this year, which is a league low. New York is also fourth-best when it comes to passing defense as they allow only 211.7 yards against in the air each game. Oakland will need to have a good running game to help Carr lout. Running back Latavius Murray carried the ball 15 times in San Diego for 85 yards and a touchdown. He averaged over five yards each carry for just the second time this season. He may have a hard time against New York since the Jets rushing defense is ranked the best in the NFL at 71.5 yards against each outing.

The Raiders’ receivers need to be aware of New York’s secondary, but the Jets can’t take Oakland’s too lightly since free safety Charles Woodson leads the league with four interceptions in 2015. He’ll be ready to pounce on Fitzpatrick if he isn’t accurate as the Jets’ quarterback has been picked off seven times this season. Oakland is 4-2 against the spread in their past half dozen home fixtures. If Ivory is healthy, the Raiders have a shot at taking this game.
